Relaxing in a chamomile bath. Make a herb chamomile bath bag

Chamomile

Treat Yourself to a chamomile Bath!

Relaxing in a chamomile bath is a wonderful and soothing way to end your day.

The calming properties of chamomile make it ideal for a relaxing and soothing bath.

Using the actual flowers and leaves in a chamomile bath is lovely but after the chamomile has become wet, it will start sticking to your body and will also block the plug hole. Rather have a chamomile bath using a chamomile bag!!!

How to make a chamomile bath bag

All you will need for your chamomile bath bag are the following:

  • A piece of cheesecloth or muslin approximately 20cm in diameter

  • A piece of string approximately 30cm in length

  • A handful of chamomile flowers and leaves

Place the chamomile in the middle of the material, gather up the edges and squeeze the top closed. Tie a double know in the string around the gathered section, about 4cm from the top. Take the ends to the other side and tie another double knot.

Finally, tie the 2 ends of the string together and hang the chamomile bath bag around the tap. Make sure the bag is in line with the flow of the water from the tap when running the chamomile bath.

You can also make a chamomile bath bag as a gift and use a piece of lace to tie around the neck of the pouch to cover the string. You can also use colored ribbon but ensure it is colour fast as the gift recipient will not be pleased if their bath turns blue!!!

After your chamomile bath, the bag can be placed in an airing cupboard or dry, warm place and reused again for another 2 or 3 chamomile baths.
