Valerian Essential Oil

Valerian essential oil can be used on your canine in the form of a synergistic blend of valerian and other oils. The word ‘synergistic’ comes from the word synergy and when used in terms of essential oil, we are basically saying that a combination of ingredients works better than the individual ingredients by themselves. In effect, a different compound is created by mixing oils together.

Valerian Canine Blend Dosage

This of course depends very much on the size of the dog.

It can be anything from 2 – 8 drops. Start with a small amount and work upwards rather than using too much.

How to Apply the Valerian Canine Blend?

Shake the bottle well before applying to your dog.

Apply the oil to the back of your dog’s neck or chest area and always take great care to avoid the eyes and the nose.

How does the Valerian Canine Blend work?

The aroma from the evaporating oils will be inhaled by your dog, will enter the blood stream and begin the calming process.

Once in the bloodstream certain chemicals and elements of the oil begin to have a sedative and calming effect on the nervous system of your dog.

This is why you must start with a small amount and increase the dosage only if required. These oils are very potent and you could damage your dog’s health if you do not apply them carefully and at the correct dosage.
